Admission to Sainik School Uttarakhand for Class VI and Class IX is granted purely on the basis of the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE), followed by medical fitness and an interview.

The All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) is a pen-and-paper test conducted once a year, assessing candidates on core academic aptitude relevant to their entry class.
